Exotic reptiles workshop at the Montessori Academy
The scarier - the cooler!
Montessori School and Preschool were visited by various exotic creatures. At this age, curiosity prevails over prejudice, so we could see close or touch: bearded agama, reticulated python, corn snake, African snail and millipede.
Thanks to our guests we could meet representatives of the animal world from several continents: Australia, North America, Africa and Asia. We also learned about the different behaviours of each animal.
- Did you know that the agama has rough skin that protects it from cuts when it squeezes through narrow rocks? Its spines get bigger when it is nervous and it scares other animals by slapping its tail against the ground
- The grain snake does not eat grain at all, but mice. It sheds its skin entirely, unlike the agama, which sheds it in patches
- Python is very cunning, can innocently wriggle around the victim to measure whether he manages to eat it
